ADULT MONDAY NIGHTS

TIME: 6:00pm-8:00pm
COST: $185 ($20 included goes to supplies)
DESCRIPTION: The class focuses on the individual as an artist and each student is encouraged to make subjective art. We will discuss where you want to take your pottery, or for beginners guide you to find a voice in clay. Beginners will create simple cylinders on the wheel and turn them in to mugs. Advanced students are encouraged to bring new ideas about what they want to create. Students will be guided to make beautiful functional ware or artistic non-functional forms depending on the individual. We will decorate pieces with food safe/microwave safe under-glaze or glaze.
OIL PAINTING WITH MYRNA McGRATH

AGE OF STUDENTS: 16-Adult
DESCRIPTION: Will explore color mixing, work on composition and concept. Prefer water mixable oil paints – yes, they wash with soap and water. We use only low odor turpentine if you have regular oil paints. We’ll have enough supplies to get started on the first class. If weather permits we may try painting outdoors.
ADVENTURES IN ACRYLIC AND OIL PAINTING WITH BRIGITTE BOWDEN

AGE OF STUDENTS: Adult
DESCRIPTION OF CLASS: Experience the joy of paint in this class and discover your own artistic voice. Bring photos of a chosen subject as reference for your painting. Learn to use only what is important to you in the photo and to leave out what is not. Learn methods to scale up from a photo reference, identify the center of interest and use color and texture to interpret your vision. There will be a short demonstration at the beginning of each class to highlight a specific technique or procedure followed by individual needs-based instruction. Focus will be on composition, color and painting techniques.
OIL PAINTING WITH REBECCA TAYLOR

Session II: April 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, & 19

COST: $90 for six classes
DESCRIPTION: This is a class for all levels- The advancement is limitless once a student is taught how to manipulate the paint. We will increase our skills in creating any color from just 5 basic hues, achieving depth and impact, glazing layers of translucent hues, manipulating our edges to achieve sophistication and interest, and developing a consistent style. Students will also be exposed to a myriad of artists and styles as well as professional opportunities. Students can bring in desired image references. Technique instruction will be both group and individual.
